To vote in the Huon Valley Council election you must be enrolled by 6pm on Thursday 10 September 2026.
If you’re on the State electoral roll
If you’re enrolled for State and Federal elections at a Huon Valley address, you’re already on the roll. You don’t need to do anything and a ballot pack will be posted to you from 5 October. Voting is compulsory.
Update your details with the Australian Electoral Commission before 10 September if you have moved, changed your name, turned 18, or recently become an Australian citizen. Check your enrolment at aec.gov.au or call 132 326. If your address is out of date, your ballot pack will go to the wrong place.
If you’re not on the State electoral roll
You may be eligible to enrol on the General Manager’s Roll if you:
- own land in the Huon Valley but live elsewhere,
- occupy land here but aren’t eligible for the State roll
- are the nominated representative of a corporate body that owns or occupies land here
Enrolment on the General Manager’s Roll is not automatic – you need to apply by 6pm on Thursday 10 September 2026. Voting is not compulsory for electors on this roll.
Complete and sign the form, then return it to Council by 6pm on Thursday 10 September 2026. You can:
- Email the form to hvc@huonvalley.tas.gov.au
- Post it to Huon Valley Council, PO Box 210, Huonville TAS 7109
- Drop it in at 40 Main Street, Huonville
