Bipartisan investment commitments into Huon Valley health services were welcomed by Council during the 2025 State election. Council met Minister Archer after the election and was encouraged that the Government is working on a delivery plan that best suits local needs.

Mayor Sally Doyle said, “We welcome today’s confirmation from Minister Archer that the project will be reflected in the state budget and informed by local engagement. As the only provider of primary healthcare services in the far south, Council will keep advocating for state support to build on the benefits of Council’s own healthcare investments like our successful new women’s health clinic at Geeveston.”

Council looks forward to seeing the Government’s proposed solution and will continue to promote realistic, sustainable services delivered where they are needed most.

Council has requested an update from the Government on project timeframes and will keep the community informed on this important project.
