State Roads undertaking roadworks between Sandfly & Lower Longley

The Department of State Growth will be undertaking rock cutting stabilisation on the Huon Highway, between Sandfly and Lower Longley, from Monday, 30 August.

The works involve installing rockfall mesh and rock catching fencing along the exposed rock face on the southbound side of the Huon Highway. The work is being done to reduce the risk of rockfalls on this section of road.

The work will be carried out between 7.00am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday. The work is expected to be complete by late October 2021, weather permitting.

The map provides the location details.

Traffic Changes
During these works there will be temporary traffic changes. Both lanes of traffic closest to the rock face will be closed for the duration of the project, including outside of working hours. Traffic lights will be used to hold both directions of traffic while work is being undertaken.

Road users should allow up to eight minutes extra travel time during this work.
