The Council-owned RV sites in Franklin, Port Huon and Geeveston will remain closed until each site has the right planning approvals in place for them to operate for these purposes.
Before COVID-19, Council had started a process to formalise these three sites, following a complaint upheld by the Tasmanian Economic Regulator.
The Council is committed to ensuring that these sites operate in accordance with national competitive neutrality principles and in harmony with local commercial operators.
Council continues to work with local groups and organisations to assist them with the planning approvals process and reopening at the earliest opportunity.
No timeframes for their reopening are available at this stage, however we will provide an update as soon as we can.
