Round 1 of community consultation on Huonville Reimagined is open now – and we want to hear from you! This major strategic planning project will shape the future of Huonville across five precincts, whether you live, work, study, shop, play or simply visit – this isn’t just for residents.
An online survey and interactive map are open right now, and take just a few minutes to complete. From early October, we’ll also be out and about with community workshops and drop-in sessions – including a couple of sausage sizzles – so you can share your thoughts in person too.

Community at the heart
Community input is at the heart of the project, with stakeholders, landowners, businesses and community groups engaged throughout, alongside a newly formed Community Reference Group providing local insight and feedback. Expressions of interest for the group closed earlier this week and successful applicants will be contacted soon.
There will also be three rounds of broad community consultation as this project develops, each building on the last:
- Round 1 asks “what matters to us?“,
- Round 2 asks “what should we prioritise?”
- Round 3 asks “does this get it right?”
So if you don’t catch us this round, there will be more chances to have your say – but the earlier you jump in, the more your ideas can shape the direction from the ground up.
Round 1: What matters to us (17 September – 12 October 2026)
Open now! Building on Huonville’s existing Community Vision, this round asks you to help translate that Vision into action by ranking what matters most to you and identifying opportunities for the places you love and those you think could use some work.
Round 2: What should we prioritise? (November – December 2026)
Later this year, we’ll present draft business cases, precinct opportunities, catalyst projects and infrastructure priorities for you to react to, helping us to pinpoint where there’s strong support and where more work is needed.
Round 3: Reviewing the Plans – does this get it right? (February – March 2027)
In early 2027, the Draft Master Plan, Precinct Plans and Design Guidelines will go on public exhibition for a final check before they’re finalised. This will be your last chance to test priorities and help build confidence in the outcomes.
What is Huonville Reimagined?
Huonville Reimagined is funded by the Australian Government through the Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program.
This first stage will run until June 2027. During this time, we’ll be developing a master plan and precinct plans for Huonville, along with the studies and business cases needed to support them. This covers everything from streets and public open spaces to planning for housing, businesses and community facilities. This work will lay the groundwork for future stages, including design and construction, once further funding and approvals are in place.

- Sunday 11 October 2026, 10am – 2pm: Market stall at the Judbury Market. We’ll be there to have a chat.
