As the warmer summer months quickly approach, Council is preparing to carry out recreational water quality sampling at popular Huon Valley swimming locations.

Previously, during December to March, samples have been taken weekly at popular beaches including Randalls Bay, Verona Sands and Dover.

This survey aims to identify popular recreational swimming areas in the Huon Valley and assist Council in selecting the most appropriate sample locations for the upcoming 2023 summer season.

Sampling results indicate whether a location continues to be safe for swimming, and if not, warning signage will be in place until resampling confirms it is safe again.
