The Tasmanian Planning Commission has directed Council to prepare four draft amendments to the Huon Valley Local Provisions Schedule (LPS), and we want to hear from you.
The LPS is the local part of the Tasmanian Planning Scheme — the maps and rules that decide what can be built or done on land across the Huon Valley. The four proposed amendments cover:
- AM-HVC-1 — a new Scenic Protection Area overlay at Blackswan Lagoon
- AM-HVC-2 — updates to the Priority Vegetation Area overlay for a number of Port Huon properties
- AM-HVC-3 — managing development on land with potential acid sulfate soils between Grove and Cockle Creek
- AM-HVC-4 — managing development on land with potential dispersive soils between Grove and Cockle Creek
A note on AM-HVC-3 and AM-HVC-4
Council doesn’t currently plan to proceed with AM-HVC-3 or AM-HVC-4, but we’re still required to exhibit them and report back to the Commission — so you’re welcome to comment on any or all four.
