Huon Valley Council is hitting the road in 2026, bringing a series of Community Forums to residents across the valley and making it easier than ever to have a say on the issues that matter most.
The forums, a commitment made by Council at a previous Annual General Meeting, are a chance for residents to sit down with Council in their own community — to ask questions, share ideas and talk about solutions and actions
Each forum is shaped by the results of our Community Views 2025 survey, which found health services, affordable housing, job prospects and public transport to be the top priorities for residents across the valley.
Huon Valley Mayor Sally Doyle said the forums are about getting out into the community and having genuine conversations. “We made a commitment to visit our communities to listen and prioritise place-based solutions and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
Three forums are planned for 2026, with more communities to be included in 2027.
- Dover and surrounds — Saturday 13 June, 2:00–4:00 PM | Dover District School, 6940 Huon Highway
