Preparation works have already started for Council’s 2026-2027 road resealing program, with the reseal contractor scheduled to begin resealing works mid-October.
Resealing is a proactive maintenance treatment that helps prevent potholes and cracks from forming in the road surface. If left untreated, small cracks allow water to seep into the road pavement, which weakens the road and leads to costly repairs. Most sealed roads are resealed approximately every 10 to 15 years to extend their life and maintain safety.
This year’s program targets ten separate roads with a combined length of more than 10km, identified through Council’s Asset Management system as requiring attention based on the level of pavement failure and remaining asset life. In some cases, only sections of a road — rather than its full length — will be resealed. Works also include associated tasks such as shouldering, drain clearing, sign replacement and guidepost installation.

- Woodbridge Hill Road, Gardners Bay
- Kingfish Beach Road, Southport
Works are expected to be completed by March 2027. Brief delays will occur while preparation and resealing take place, with traffic control in operation. Please follow any temporary traffic management for the safety of road users and road workers.
