Overview
The Huon Valley has a meaningful connection to Australia’s highest military honour, with a number of Victoria Cross recipients having come from this region and their descendants remaining part of the local community today.
The Australian Victoria Cross Descendants Association (Tasmania) brings together these descendants, along with families, veterans, and supporters, to honour the bravery and service of those who have worn Australia’s uniform. Through remembrance, education, and shared history, the Association works to keep the legacy of our local heroes alive for future generations, ensuring their remarkable contribution to Australia’s military history is recognised, celebrated, and preserved.
All veterans and their families are welcomed and valued, with the Association standing alongside all who have served in acknowledgement of their sacrifice.
