Overview
The Alliance is established to enable the dispersed townships within the northern region of the Huon Valley (south of the Sleeping Beauty mountain range) to collaborate and, as an alliance, liaise with the Council and potentially other levels of government on issues that impact the region. The townships — specifically Mountain River, Grove, Crabtree, and Lucaston — are part of a rapidly growing commuter corridor (1,500+ residents), and this Alliance serves as a central point for representative groups to voice concerns or collate diverse suggestions for community improvements. As a central hub, the Mountain River Hall can be used for community-based events for the benefit of the Northern Huon Valley region at the base of the Sleeping Beauty range. The aim is to build great community cohesion and resilience.
