Overview

Rural Alive and Well Inc. (RAW) is a Tasmanian not-for-profit organisation building mentally healthy and resilient rural communities, with the aim of reducing the prevalence of suicide. RAW provides practical, tangible support to promote positive mental health, reduce stigma, address situational stressors, and connect people with specialist support services — particularly those who may traditionally hesitate to ask for help.

Client engagement through RAW Country is non-clinical in style: caring, confidential, non-intrusive, and available when and where help is most needed. RAW Country workers work alongside individuals, families and communities to build resilience, linking people in with support services, family and friends, and providing non-judgemental, practical support.

RAW’s non-crisis phone support service, RAW Connect, is available 24/7, 365 days a year, helping callers navigate the range of specialist and clinical support services available and access the right support at the right time.

Locally, RAW is available to the Huon Valley community and beyond, with a dedicated Huon Valley worker.
