Built in 1932, Kermandie Hotel remains the heart of Port Huon, offering charming, comfortable accommodation, dining, bars, a bottle shop and its own marina.
Accommodation
Kermandie boasts a selection of cosy, character-filled Heritage Rooms, all with an ensuite, providing accommodation for couples, singles and families. The Heritage area also has a guest lounge with tea and coffee facilities, couches, armchairs, dining tables and an open fire, overlooking the Huon River and marina opposite Kermandie. Alternatively, Kermandie offers Queen & Twin accommodation along with self-contained two-bedroom family units in the property next door to the main building; all Lodge Rooms & Units have their own bathroom, and the family units also include a full kitchen. All in-house guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast, served in the Huon Lounge daily from 7:30am–9:30am.
Dining, bars & facilities
The restaurant features views of the marina and Huon River through floor-to-ceiling windows, serving carefully crafted meals with local produce alongside hearty pub favourites, plus a wine list spotlighting Tasmanian wineries along with local ciders, spirits and beers. Kermandie has two bars: the Heritage Bar (renovated 2012, lunch and dinner served 7 days, monthly trivia night on the second Tuesday) and the Contemporary Bar within the restaurant, featuring locally sourced Sassafras timber. The Huon Lounge is a versatile function space with river views, suited to canapé functions or work gatherings for up to 45 people, or private dining for up to 30; it’s also used for meetings and birthday celebrations (contact the Events Team on 03 6297 1052).
