Overview
Henrietta Manning is an award-winning artist who has been exhibiting since 1985. Her work is predominantly created from life, with subject matter spanning all genres. The artwork features painterly close-up marks that fall beautifully into place when viewed from a distance. Henrietta has been a finalist in prestigious art prizes including the Glover, Wynne, Alice, Waterhouse, Portia Geach, Alice Bale and Mosman prizes in Australia, as well as the Summer Exhibition in England.
In 2005, Henrietta was awarded an Australia Council New Work Established Grant. She has undertaken residencies including two with the Hill End Residency Program at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, NSW.
Studio Waterloo is the artist’s working studio, housed in a historic apple packing shed in the beautiful setting of Waterloo in the Huon Valley. Tasmania, known as the ‘Apple Isle’, was once world famous for exporting apples, and visitors can step into a piece of this history. Guests are welcome to meet the artist, view past and current work, and receive personal insight into her art practice. The studio offers stunning views stretching down the Huon River to Sleeping Beauty and Mount Wellington.
