Overview
Cygnet Singers is non-auditioning SATB choir of approximately 40 voices, based in the town of Cygnet in Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Cygnet Singers was formed in 1984 and has maintained an uninterrupted schedule of rehearsals and performances ever since. In that time, we have performed works representing a broad range of styles and musical periods. We have an established tradition of joining forces with other musicians and musical groups to bring our audiences the widest possible variety of musical experiences.
Our current repertoire is of small-scale works, essentially songs and carols. We sometimes sing in other languages and our repertoire ranges through time from the 16th century to the present-day including art songs, folk songs and musical theatre.
We present public performances at regular intervals as well as singing at community events such as Festival of Voices and Relay for Life.
