Overview

A Taste of the Huon is a celebration of fine food, wine, beverages, entertainment, arts and crafts from the Huon Valley and Channel region. The event is held annually over the Sunday and Monday of the March long weekend at Ranelagh, only a 30-minute scenic drive south of Hobart.

The Huon, Channel and Bruny region produces an abundance of apples and although Tasmania is still recognised as the ‘Apple Isle’, cherries, mushrooms, oysters, berries, lavender, saffron, fresh vegetables, award winning wine, cider and spirits are also produced and farmed in the region and along with much more, all promoted at the event.

Entertainment is always at its very best, with each year bringing a new programme to enjoy. Most importantly there will be loads of free attractions and activities to keep the children occupied.

This event is one of the most popular regional events in Tasmania and draws thousands of local, intrastate and interstate visitors through its two-day program. The event is organised and run by a voluntary committee with a portion of proceeds being injected back into the community via funding of groups who volunteer at the event.
