Huon Valley Council is seeking a Waste Transfer Station Operator to join our team on a casual basis, working across all locations.

- Casual – across all locations – Southbridge, Dover and Cygnet
- $68,181.13 pro rata ($34.50 per hr + Casual Loading)
- 15% Employer Superannuation
- Weekend work with penalty rates
The Role
As the Waste Transfer Station Operator, you will:
- Provide friendly customer assistance and information about waste disposal
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for everyone
- Guide customers on how to sort their waste properly
- Identify reusable or recyclable materials for resale
Skills & Experience
What You will Bring:
- Good customer service skills and clear communication
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Experience with or willingness to learn payment systems and cash handling
- Able to safely perform physical tasks
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Previous experience with waste management is helpful but not required – we’ll train you if you’re the right person
