As our Assistant Manager Finance, reporting to the Senior Manager – Finance, you will manage and coordinate the financial operations of Council that directly impact our thriving community.

Your impact

Manage and improve council operations through:

Leadership and Team
  • Manage and  coordinate the financial operations across Council
  • Partner with executive management and other leaders to develop, implement, financial service programs and strategies across Council
  • Lead our Finance Team to meet objectives and achieve goals
  • Foster a positive, values-driven team culture
  • Mentor and develop the finance team.
Operations
  • Ensure robust financial systems and processes
  • Deliver insights that inform decision making.
What you’ll bring

We’re seeking a finance professional with:

Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field and/or Extensive experience in a similar financial management role
Technical:
  • Strong analytical and solution-focused thinking abilities
  • Advanced experience in financial management systems and with Microsoft 365, Power BI, and Business Central or similar
  • Working knowledge in the preparation of budgets and budgetary control methods
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Asset management principles
