As our Assistant Manager Finance, reporting to the Senior Manager – Finance, you will manage and coordinate the financial operations of Council that directly impact our thriving community.

Your impact
Manage and improve council operations through:
Leadership and Team
- Manage and coordinate the financial operations across Council
- Partner with executive management and other leaders to develop, implement, financial service programs and strategies across Council
- Lead our Finance Team to meet objectives and achieve goals
- Foster a positive, values-driven team culture
- Mentor and develop the finance team.
Operations
- Ensure robust financial systems and processes
- Deliver insights that inform decision making.
What you’ll bring
We’re seeking a finance professional with:
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field and/or Extensive experience in a similar financial management role
Technical:
- Strong analytical and solution-focused thinking abilities
- Advanced experience in financial management systems and with Microsoft 365, Power BI, and Business Central or similar
- Working knowledge in the preparation of budgets and budgetary control methods
- Strong understanding and practical application of Asset management principles
