Huon Valley Council has partnered with Kentish Regional Clinic Inc to bring CORES (Community Owned Response to Eliminating Suicide) training to Huonville this September. This hands-on training gives participants practical skills to recognise the warning signs of suicide, have safe and respectful conversations about it, and support someone at risk to access help and develop their own safety plan. Participants will also build their own self-care strategies and learn how to promote help-seeking behaviour before a crisis occurs, strengthening the community’s overall capacity to prevent suicide.
Thanks to funding from the Department of Health, this session is free and open to all community members.
