Halls and venues

Most Council-owned halls are managed by a committee. Fees are set by the Council and are charged based on a hall’s rating (class 1-3).

For personal events (such as weddings and birthday parties) where alcohol will be consumed, the hire fee is $260 plus bonds.

If a hall or meeting room is used more than once a week by the same user, the hire fee can be discounted by 25 per cent.

If a hall is hired to conduct classes the contribute to either the health and wellbing of the community, or are hired by a non-profit organisation, the hirer may be entitled to the bonafide community groups rate of $10 per hour.

Chair and trestle hire

  • $50 bond
  • $1.50 per chair
  • $5.50 per trestle

Public liability insurance

  • $30 per booking (maximum 12 bookings per year)

If the set fee would cause a group undue hardship and prevent the event from being held, groups may apply in writing to the Director Corporate Services, PO Box 210 HUONVILLE   TAS   7109, to consider a fee reduction.
