The Role
As the Manager Children’s Services, you will lead the operational delivery of Council’s Children’s Services programs, including Centre Based Care and Outside School Hours Care, ensuring high-quality outcomes for children and families across the Huon Valley. You will:
- Lead, mentor, and support the Children’s Services team to deliver best-practice childcare
- Manage the financial, physical, and human resources of the Children’s Services Unit
- Ensure compliance with Commonwealth and State legislation, accreditation standards, and Council policies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, government agencies, and peak bodies
What You will Bring:
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A Diploma or Bachelor Degree in a relevant field and/or extensive demonstrated experience in a comparable senior role
- Proven leadership and people management skills within a children’s services environment
- A thorough understanding of contemporary childcare practice, CCS guidelines, and relevant Commonwealth and State frameworks
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Current Working with Vulnerable People card, National Police Check, First Aid Certificate, and a current drivers licence (or the ability to obtain)
