A panoramic view of a lush, green valley with scattered houses, dense trees, and rolling hills, leading to a calm blue river or lake under a clear sky.

Huon Valley Council, with $5 million in funding from the Tasmanian Government, is delivering a package of safety and accessibility improvements in Cygnet township. These upgrades aim to improve parking, traffic flow, pedestrian safety, and accessibility for everyone who lives, works, and visits the town.

Planned improvements include the widening of Lymington Road, new wombat crossings, accessible parking bays, Mary Street centreline realignment, an extension of the Town Hall carpark, and a new Mary Street carpark with EV charging options.

Council is holding two community drop-in sessions where you can come along, view the plans, ask questions, and chat with the project team. Drop in anytime — no bookings required.
