The wet and windy weather over the past month has delayed our annual roadside spraying program, which was originally set to start in late September. The weather just hasn’t been suitable for spraying to be effective.
We’re hoping to start the program in the next 2 weeks — but that will depend on the weather cooperating! We will provide a further update one we have a start date confirmed.
A quick reminder: The roadside spraying mainly takes place along rural roads. If you’d prefer not to have the roadside in front of your property sprayed, please make sure the vegetation in that area is kept under 20 cm high, as set out in our Nature Strip Policy. If it’s higher or not maintained, our contractors will need to spray the area.
With over 500km or rural roads, managing roadside vegetation is an important part of keeping our community safe. Regular spraying reduces fire hazards, improves visibility for drivers, and ensures drains can flow freely when the rain comes.
Thanks for your patience and understanding while we wait for better weather.
