Exciting improvements are on the way for the Port Huon Sports Centre, with major accessibility and changeroom upgrades set to begin later this month.

Starting 24 November 2025, the project will deliver modern, welcoming facilities for everyone, including fully compliant accessible toilets and showers, plus two new family changerooms

These upgrades are part of Council’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive, high-quality community spaces that meet modern standards and support active participation for all.

Temporary facilities during construction

During the works, the existing toilet and changeroom area will be temporarily closed. To minimise disruption, portable toilets (including an accessible toilet) will be available outside the Centre for use during this period.

Work is expected to be completed by late March 2026.

Alternative facilities available

Council acknowledges the inconvenience to users and encourages swimmers to use the Huonville Pool  if possible while works are underway. All current Port Huon Sports Centre memberships will be valid for the Huonville Pool for the duration of the works.

Stay up to date

We’ll be sharing project updates and photos on Council’s website and social media so the community can follow the progress.
