Traffic change on Heron Street in Huonville on 16, 17 and 20 March 2023

Notice from the Department of State Growth

“The Department of State Growth is continuing the replacement of Mountain River Bridge, also known as Oates Bridge, on Lollara Road in Grove. The new bridge will be stronger, suitable for special purpose and heavy vehicles and will include a footpath. We are realigning the roads and junctions next to the bridge. As part of this work, we are transporting ten beams for installation of the new bridge over the Mountain River on Lollara Road.

We will be transporting the beams between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm from Thursday, 16 March to Friday, 17 March and should be finished on Monday, 20 March 2023. We will not be transporting the beams through the School Zone on Heron Street between 7:30 am and 9:30 am, and between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm to allow for school traffic.

During this transport of the beams, there will be no on-street parking available on Heron Street between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm from Thursday, 16 March to Friday, 17 March and Monday, 20 March 2023.

Please look for signage and make alternative arrangements for your vehicle. Vehicles on the street after 6:00 am and before 5:00 pm from Thursday, 16 March to Friday, 17 March and on Monday, 20 March 2023 will be removed. If your vehicle has been removed, please contact the project’s towing contractor Stornoway on 1300 310 487.

We will be continuing to work on this project between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday and should be finished by the end of June 2023, weather permitting. If bad weather does cause delays, we may need to work between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm on some Saturdays and Sundays. We will let you know in advance if we need to do any work outside these times. For the safety of workers and road users, please keep to speed limits and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
