Just one small act, like introducing yourself to your neighbour, can help make someone feel connected and less lonely or isolated. We have created some calling cards for you to introduce yourself to your neighbours!

The program draws inspiration from Relationships Australia’s social connection campaign, Neighbour Day. Neighbour Day aims to support and enable sustainable respectful relationships across communities, while also helping to address loneliness across the nation.

Pick up a pack of cards from our Customer Service Centre or the Huon Valley Hub.

In recognition of Neighbour Day and Council’s own Good Neighbour project, Huon Valley residents share their experiences of neighbourliness. Amy Smyth, Rodney Dillon, Michelle Ewikowski from Kermandie, and Leigh Savage from Huon Aquaculture share their stories in this short video.
