Residents urged to keep pets secure after dog attacks spike

Huon Valley Council staff are working hard to respond to a significant jump in dog attacks in the Huon Valley.

The spike has occurred since people have started spending more time at home.

We urge all residents to please ensure your beloved pets are safely kept in enclosed yards, even when you are home. This can be as simple as ensuring your gate is closed at all times.

By keeping your dog secure you will avoid causing stress or harm to others in our community, many of whom are already feeling stressed.

A reminder to please ensure your dogs are registered and that their microchip contact details are up to date. This helps us to reunite lost animals as quickly as possible.
