- Compliance role, including animal management, infrastructure protection and parking enforcement
- Permanent Full-time position ($79,071 per annum starting wage plus and on-call allowance)
- 15% employer superannuation
- Commuter use of a Council vehicle while undertaking on-call duties.
The Role
As the Municipal Inspector you will:
- Promote compliance through education and community engagement as the primary approach
- Provide timely, courteous advice to community members on legislative and by-law requirements
- Manage animal control duties including dog registrations, permits, and pound keeping responsibilities
- Conduct patrols and inspections across the municipal area with a focus on education before enforcement
- Investigate and resolve compliance matters fairly and equitably, using enforcement only when necessary
- Participate in educational campaigns to increase community awareness of compliance requirements

Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent time management skills with ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong written communication skills and ability to interpret and apply legislation and by-laws
- Confidence and, ideally, experience dealing with animals, particularly livestock and dogs
- Proficiency in computerised systems, including Microsoft 365, records management and GIS systems
