Huon Valley Council has welcomed the Tasmanian Government’s announcement of the preferred site for the new Cygnet Ambulance Station on Mary Street.

The new state-of-the-art facility will provide dedicated, purpose-built infrastructure for Ambulance Tasmania, with reduced response times for Cygnet and surrounding communities.

Huon Valley Mayor, Sally Doyle, expressed her support for this significant development.

“Critical services like this full-time ambulance station are essential for the rapidly growing community around Cygnet and the wider Huon Valley,” Mayor Doyle said.

“Council looks forward to assisting the delivery of this welcome ambulance station.”

The Department of Health has been working closely with Ambulance Tasmania and Huon Valley Council to select the preferred location. The Tasmanian Government, Huon Valley Council and the community will now work together to bring this important project to life.

This critical health infrastructure will significantly benefit our community’s health and safety for years to come.
