As we reflect on 2024-25, we’re proud to share the incredible work accomplished across our community. From exceeding infrastructure targets to delivering essential services, our dedicated team has been working hard to support our growing region of nearly 20,000 residents.

Building for the future

This year has been transformative for infrastructure and development. We exceeded our capital works program by 134%, delivering critical projects ahead of schedule. With $60 million in building approvals and over 600 planning, building, and plumbing applications processed, confidence in our region’s future remains strong.

Our team maintained 714 km of roads, 211 bridges and culverts, 54 km of footpaths, and 174 hectares of parks and reserves – the backbone of our connected community.

Where we connect

Our recreation facilities were buzzing with activity, recording nearly 54,000 visits across Huonville Swimming Pool, Port Huon Sports and Aquatic Centre, and Cygnet Sports Centre. These spaces, along with our 15 playgrounds and 18 marine facilities, continue to be where our community comes together.

Essential services making a difference

Our medical centres provided 28,723 services to 3,395 patients, with 85% bulk billed – keeping healthcare accessible and affordable for Valley residents.

Early learning services delivered 278,640 hours of childcare across 36,125 sessions, supporting working families and giving our youngest residents the best start in life.

Environmental leadership

Sustainability remains central to everything we do. We diverted 2,985 tonnes of waste from landfill through recycling and recovery programs, supported 36 Landcare groups, and provided 1,200 native trees to community projects. Our weed management program conducted 124 inspections and ran ongoing education campaigns to protect our precious natural environment.

Staying connected

Our Customer Service Centre team handled almost 17,000 phone calls and 76,347 in-person visits, responding to thousands of requests across planning, roads, and community services. Through 65 media releases and 10 community engagement sessions, we’ve kept communication flowing both ways.
