Huon Valley Council is offering a free scrap metal drop-off at Southbridge and Cygnet Waste Transfer Stations this October. This service gives residents an easy way to recycle unwanted metal items and help reduce landfill.

What can be dropped off
- Whitegoods (fridges, washing machines, ovens)
- Metal bikes, tools, pipes, and frames
- Car bodies
- Other items made mostly of scrap metal
Where and when
Southbridge (Huonville)
- Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday – 10:00am to 4:00pm
Cygnet
- Wednesday – 12:00pm to 4:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday – 10:00am to 4:00pm
Who can use the service
- Free for Huon Valley residential customers and businesses.
- Commercial collection service operators are not eligible.
