A large outdoor fair with colorful booths, rides, and food stalls is bustling with people. Cars fill the parking area in the background, with green hills and mountains under a cloudy sky beyond.

The Huon Show was first held at the Huonville Recreation Ground in 1947, before moving to its current home at Ranelagh in 1956.

The Show is organised by a small committee and has continued to grow over the years. Attendance is now around 10,000 patrons, with strong support from across southern Tasmania and beyond.

A highlight of the Huon Show is that it has remained a traditional country show – featuring a wide range of competitions, entertainment, and a large display of agricultural equipment and machinery.
