Join us for a community forum exploring practical ways to improve public and active transport for the Huon Valley.
In a cost-of-living crisis, our dependence on the private car is making it expensive for many locals — including students, jobseekers, people on low incomes, older residents and those with health challenges to get where they need to go. Commuters who want the convenience of public transport are also looking for better options.
The forum will highlight what rural areas across the EU and elsewhere are doing to boost buses, on-demand transport, community-run services and active travel such as cycling and walking. We’ll look at what’s working, what’s not, and what methods could be adapted here in Tasmania.
Come along and share your own experiences and ideas. Together we can identify realistic, affordable steps to make getting around easier, fairer, safer and more sustainable.
