A sepia-toned photo shows a rural town with scattered houses, roads, and fields nestled among rolling hills and trees. The foreground features tall, bare tree trunks, and the scene is labeled “Geeveston from north. 1013.-Bertie-Hobart.”.

On 26 October 1865, Geeveston was officially gazetted as a township.

To celebrate the 160th anniversary of the town, the Geeveston Guild will host a heritage display, featuring a variety of trades and crafts familiar to our residents of days gone by.
