The Huon Valley Council is proud to support the Huon Show 2025 and can’t wait to connect with our community at this year’s much‑loved event!

Council staff and volunteers will be spread across the showgrounds with hands‑on activities, displays and plenty of practical tips on staying safe, sustainable and prepared.

At the Emergency Management stall, learn how to make your emergency plan, prepare your property and understand your local risks. Chat with the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) and State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers and pick up a free emergency preparedness kit. The TFS Huonville crew will have their fire truck on site — perfect for small kids (and kids at heart!) to hop into the driver’s seat — along with bushfire planning resources to take home. SES volunteers will share Community Protection Flood Guides, and Red Hot Tips will be there to support rural landholders and farmers with bushfire preparation.

A fire service display at an outdoor event features a fire truck, a canopy tent with fire service branding, firefighting gear, informational materials, and a person in firefighting gear standing nearby on grass.

The Environmental Sustainability team will showcase The Adaptation Game (TAG) – a fun, interactive way to explore how small actions can help build community resilience. The Natural Resource Management team will feature a Waterbug and Revegetation display, highlighting the importance of native vegetation for healthy waterways.

Head up to the Schools Exhibition shed to find the Waste Education and Youth team as part of the Art from Trash category. Join in the Build‑a‑Bug activity for kids (and big kids!) and learn simple ways to reduce waste, recycle right and make everyday actions more sustainable.

Drop by the Council area at the Huon Show for a chat, join the fun, and discover how we can all help care for our shared Huon Valley community.
