Moving beyond consultation, we focus on building capacity within the community so residents can work alongside us on what matters most. This framework shapes all our planning decisions and service delivery.

How we'll get there
Our Strategic Plan identifies 5 strategic goals that guide how we progress the Community Vision over the next 10 years. It establishes the different roles Council takes - as service provider, regulator, facilitator, or advocate - depending on the level of responsibility for delivery.

What we're working toward
Created by the community in 2023, our Vision defines what residents want for the Huon Valley's future. This community-owned document guides all Council decisions, budget priorities, and Strategic Plans. It establishes shared objectives and encourages collaboration between community groups, businesses, and government.

Starting with the Vision (WHAT we want), moving to Strategic Plans (HOW we'll get there), then Term and Annual Plans (DETAIL of actions and budgets).
