Alternative Procurement Methods 

Council may occasionally procure goods and services through exempt procurement avenues that do not require Public Tender, including: 

  • LGAT Vendor Panels – The Local Government Association of Tasmania (LGAT) helps Tasmanian councils achieve best practice procurement and deliver value for money by combining councils’ purchasing power while supporting local suppliers. LGAT maintains pre-qualified standing contracts for various goods and services, with suppliers appointed through competitive Public Tender processes.
  •  Government Contracts – State and Federal Government agencies, other Councils, and Treasury common-use contracts.

These alternative procurement methods maintain proper governance standards in accordance with Council’s Code for Tenders and Contracts while providing efficient procurement solutions.
