Over recent weeks, Council staff, Councillors, and the CEO have met with Hall Committees and interested community members to discuss the hall review process. These meetings have been both productive and insightful, providing an open forum for sharing perspectives and concerns about proposed changes to hall management.

Council sincerely thanks everyone who participated for challenging the proposals, expressing their feelings, and listening to responses in a respectful manner. The Council acknowledges the sadness and anger felt by many regarding the suggested changes and appreciates the community’s willingness to engage constructively.

A detailed Council paper outlining the recommended hall management changes is available to view below.

This paper will be discussed at the upcoming Council meeting tonight on Wednesday, 18 June, starting at 6pm. The agenda for the meeting can be found on our website at Meetings, Agendas and Minutes – Huon Valley Council.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting and participate during public question time. Those who cannot attend but would like their questions answered publicly can submit them on our website at Public Question Time – Huon Valley Council.

For those unable to attend in person, the Council meeting will be livestreamed from 6pm via YouTube. Click here for the link: Ordinary Council Meeting – Wednesday 18 June 2025 – Huon Valley Council
