Huon Valley Council has extended applications for the Youth Artist Mentorship Program until Sunday 29 August.

The program is designed for young and aspiring artists aged 16-25 who want to develop their skills, through connecting with a local artist with six hours of mentoring.

Starting off a career in the arts can be daunting. We look at other people and may wonder, how did they get there? Getting together with friends is great, but sometimes we might want a bit more… a little extra to see where we can go.

Working with a mentor might just be the thing for you. Someone to help you along, cheer you on, and share with you some tips and tricks of the trade.

The literature section has now been filled, but if you are an aspiring musician, a 2D artist, a 3D artist (glass blowing), filmmaker or furniture-maker, we have mentors who would love to work with you and help you make that next step.

If you prefer to apply with friends, small groups are also encouraged to apply for all the positions apart from glass blowing.

Information Session

Interested artists are also invited to an information session which offers the opportunity to have a chat with mentors and ask questions. Details:
