Council is pleased to announce the completion of important upgrades at Burtons Reserve in Cygnet, enhancing access, safety, and the overall experience for visitors.

The improvements include an expanded car park with 20 new spaces, providing more convenience for visitors and allowing pedestrians to move safely through the area. Safety enhancements such as reduced speed limits, children crossing signs, and a new speed hump at the crossing make the space safer for families and children.

New pedestrian walkways now link the reserve to the playground. Landscaping work has revitalised the area with native plants, and strategically placed rocks to protect the greenery while enhancing the reserve’s natural appeal.

Campers at the upcoming Cygnet Folk Festival will also benefit from the upgraded facilities, making it safer and easier to navigate the busy area for drivers and pedestrians.

We also took the opportunity to fix the drainage issues around the Cygnet Scout Hall to make the grounds better for this fantastic community group.

These works build on the earlier playground upgrade completed this year, making Burtons Reserve safer, easier and more fun for families and nature lovers alike.
