An intimate ceremony was held at the Huon Valley Council Chambers yesterday to welcome two new Australian citizens.

The ceremony was attended by the two conferees Jordan Bowser and Tracy Kemash, their family and friends, Acting Mayor Sally Doyle, Huon Valley Council General Manager Jason Browne, Meg Brown representing David O’Byrne MP, Megan Graham representing Dean Harriss MLC and Anne Holst representing Dean Winter MP.

Acting Mayor Doyle said welcoming new citizens into the Huon Valley was one of the highlights of her role.

“It is a privilege to have people from all over the world and from all walks of life come and call the Huon Valley home. It takes my breath away seeing the delight and smiles on people’s faces as they become Australian citizens.”
