Are you ready to take the reins and drive IT transformation in one of Tasmania’s most stunning regions? The Huon Valley Council is on the lookout for a dynamic, tech-savvy leader to join us as our Manager Information & Technology on a part time basis.

  • Leadership opportunity in high performing IT team
  • Fixed Term Part Time – 24 hours per week
  • Competitive package of $115,112 per annum (Pro rata) including 15% superannuation

About the Role:
As our Manager Information & Technology, you’ll manage the IT Unit—where your expertise and vision will empower smarter, more efficient business operations for today and tomorrow. You’ll collaborate closely with an enthusiastic team the Business Intelligence and AI Analyst and our Director People and Corporate Services as you put our ambitious ICT Strategy into action.

Not just a manager but a mentor, you’ll foster talent, champion our values, and inspire a culture of excellence. Your technical acumen will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT services and infrastructure underpinning our Council’s bold vision for the future.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor Degree in a relevant field—or the practical experience to match.
  • The leadership skills to inspire and develop teams and build strong relationships.
  • Contemporary IT know-how, with real-world success delivering ICT strategies.
  • Project management prowess—including budget and risk management.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
