The Mayor Sally Doyle and councillors would like to acknowledge the generous community support of the Christmas Hamper Collection.

Enough items were collected to fill 40 bags, with each bag containing enough items to provide a Christmas Day meal to a family in need.

Hamper items included tins of meat, vegetables, fruit salad, snack foods, long-life custard, beverages, mince pies, puddings, shortbread and Christmas decorations.

The hampers will be distributed by The Salvation Army.

Special thanks to the following businesses who acted as drop-off points: Tassal Tasmanian Salmon, Huonville Pharmacy, Grand Hotel Huonville, Huon Promotions and Franklin Marine.
