“Getting the community to use [Harwoods Common] and become involved in it is good environmentally but equally it’s good for the community itself, because the local people are coming down, meeting their neighbours and coming together…. It just builds a really nice community spirit.”
For the past ten years, Richard Clauson and the Castle Forbes Bay Landcare Group have been working together to clean up Harwoods Common, removing weeds and planting trees to invite native fauna back into the area and make it a place the local community can use and enjoy.
