Livability and Prosperity
The Huon Valley is a great place to live, work, invest and produce.
Being Australia’s southernmost municipal area, the region extends from the Mount Wellington range down to the southernmost point in Australia and Tasmania at Cockle Creek. Its 5,497 square kilometre range is dominated by meandering waterways, forested hills, rich fertile landscapes, and stunning and clean waterways.
Just a 30-minute drive from Tasmania’s capital city of Hobart, the area provides inspiration to many innovative, creative individuals and professional businesses, all of whom contribute to the Huon Valley’s appeal as a great destination to not only visit, but call home. Offering an idyllic lifestyle, the Huon Valley is on the cusp of great opportunity for a bright and prosperous future.
The Huon Valley’s regional identity reveals truth and reason behind why we pursue and enjoy the lives we have chosen here in the Huon Valley. By embracing the Huon Valley’s brand and identity, we can maintain a clear, consistent and shared direction, and together contribute to building its presence, and benefit from its growth and increasing strength.
The Huon Valley Council’s Economic Development Unit works with interested investors, developers and existing businesses to provide guidance and support in your dealings with the Council and to reach your business pursuits.
We are available to facilitate and coordinate your discussions with Council by acting as your primary contact between its various Council services, the community, and other Government agencies and support services.
