Electric vehicle chargers in Cygnet and Geeveston

Huon Valley Council is pleased to update residents and visitors about electric vehicle chargers in the Huon Valley.

The Geeveston electric vehicle (EV) fast charger is now back in action. Council thanks Electric Highway Tasmania for their support in sourcing replacement parts to repair the unit.

A new public EV fast charger is being installed behind Cygnet Town Hall. This new charger is expected to be operational by the end of February 2023.

Going forward, both Cygnet and Geeveston chargers will be run by Electric Highway Tasmania at no cost to Council.

Standard Electric Highway Tasmania fees will apply at both chargers, with access using the Chargefox app or RFID card. Credit card facilities will be added in the coming months.

Huon Valley Council is committed to supporting the rollout of EV chargers in line with growing demand.
