Dr Walters will discuss recovery trajectories, tourists’ responses, industry responses and strategies that have assisted tourism regions and businesses to recover following crisis events.
Dr Gabby Walters is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland. Her primary research interests revolve around tourism marketing communications, tourist behaviour and tourism crisis recovery. The evening will be chaired by University of Tasmania Associate Professor Anne Hardy, Co-Director of the Tourism Research and Education Network (TRENd).
This forum will be of interest to business operators, industry employees, local council and tourism organisations, who have been affected by fire, or are interested in future proofing their region from crisis events.
