In 2008 Inspiring Place consultants were commissioned to prepare a Master Plan for the Dover Foreshore.

A number of components of the Master Plan have been completed with the closure of the Esplanade Road, one of the last remaining actions.

At the Huon Valley Council Dover Community Information Session held in March 2018, requests were received to continue with the implementation of the Master Plan. As this Master Plan is now 10 years old, prior to implementing the closure, Council wishes to ensure the community is still supportive for the closure of the Esplanade Road.

Council is seeking feedback from the community about this stage of the Master Plan.
