Community invited to comment on future of Rocky Creek water.
Supplying around 450 properties, the Rocky Creek water system services the townships of Crabtree, Grove, Ranelagh, and some areas of Huonville.
Water is extracted directly from Rocky Creek without filtration with only chlorination as the barrier of protection.
After heavy rain which produced significant turbidity and colouration of the water in late September last year, a temporary boil water alert (BWA) was issued and still remains in place.
Taste and odour problems have also recently been reported.
TasWater CEO Mr Michael Brewster will hold a community briefing later this month to address concerns raised by the community relating to water quality issues with the Rocky Creek water supply.
TasWater welcomes the opportunity to update residents of the area on the status of the Rocky Creek water supply project, the solutions being investigated and timeframes going forward.
The community briefing will be at the Huon Valley Council Chambers on Thursday, 30 March 2017, between 6 and 7pm.
All TasWater customers and members of the public are welcome to attend.
