As a part of Council's Rural Health Program, a successful Men's Health Night was held in Huonville in July 2006. Guest speakers talked about a range of health issues including chronic diseases, mental health and relationships. Feedback from the night showed a strong desire for follow-up information by those present.

The Rural Health Unit is currently working towards providing health assessment checks for men and health information evenings on specific topics.
